ΙΧΘΥΣ (ICHTHUS) I

In the composition there is no adherence to the traditions of Orthodox, Catholic or Protestant denominations. The composition is a free embodiment of the acronym ICHTHUS (Iesous, Christos, Theou, Yios, Soter). Each of these 5 words became the titles of 5 pieces that form the cycle. However, these titles do not suggest any strict program or plot. Each piece presents individual musical ideas based on the themes-monograms derived from the titles of the pieces. The theme-monogram ICHTHUS is used in all the parts of the cycle and serves as an integral element.
